The Southern Regional Area Health Education Center Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the North Carolina Medical Society to offer continuing education activities for physicians in the following counties: Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland. The Duke University School of Medicine, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) also collaborates with many of the CME activities at the SR-AHEC affiliated hospitals and health centers in the region. The primary mission of the Office of CME is to provide physicians a broad spectrum of activities that will enable them to provide high quality patient health care. The Office of CME assures that the activities it sponsors satisfy the criteria for category 1 of the Physicians Recognition Award of the American Medical Society and the NC credit required by all physicians licensed by the NC Medical Board.
