Southern Regional AHEC is a North Carolina American Heart Association SR-AHEC Training Center (TC) since November, 1997. SR-AHEC maintains an Emergency Cardiac Care Training Network for instructors of Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. The TC serves as the regional liaison to the American Heart Association, implementing Emergency Cardiac Care science and education in the community as well as maintaining the instructor data base, performing quality assurance activities, and acting as the regional resource for AHA instructors. Many regional hospitals and other health care organizations are affiliated with the SR-AHEC CTC as satellite facilities.
