Courses. In partnership with the Duke AHEC and Duke School of Nursing, Southern Regional AHEC offers online continuing education for nursing, mental health and allied health professionals.

Through our partnership with AHEConnect, users have access to:

  • Online registration and payment
  • Individualized online course tracking and transcripts
  • Online testing and certification
  1. What courses are available?
    To view the list of courses available, click the Duke/SR-AHEC Online Courses link near the top right of this page. On the page that displays (AHEConnect.com), click on the COURSES tab.
  2. How do I register?
    Registration can begin after you create a new user account or log into an existing account. Both are described here.
  3. Are you an existing user?
    Click the LOGIN tab to enter username and password, which will take you to your personal account page, MY CE. Then click on the COURSES tab at the top of page to browse all courses and register for new ones. After registering for a course, it will appear on your MY CE page, where you can click on the course name to begin.
  4. Are you a first-time user?
    Begin by clicking the NEW USER tab to setup an account. TIP: Print the instructions for setting up your account to guide you through the process.
  5. I've created an account, now what?
    Click on the LOGIN tab to enter your username and password. This will take you to your MY CE page, which will track all the courses you are enrolled in or have completed.
  6. How do I begin taking a course?
    Step 1:
    Click on the COURSES tab at page top to register for a new course.
    Step 2: In the alphabetical course list that displays, click on a course name.
    Step 3: On the course description page that displays, click on the link "[Click here to register for this course]".
    Step 4: Follow the screen directions for secure online registration (and payment, if the course requires a fee).
    Step 5: After registration, the course will appear on your MY CE page under Courses in Progress. Click on the course name to begin.

Course Completion
Upon completing the course:

  • You will be asked to complete a course evaluation.
  • For credit, a post-test is required. You must answer 80% of the questions correctly to receive credit.

Certificate.
Upon completion of the course evaluation and post-test, a personalized, printable certificate of completion is available.
