“I was attracted to the SR-AHEC / CFVHS pharmacy residency program for multiple reasons.  First, the program offers an extensive assortment of rotations that allow me the flexibility to pursue a wide variety of learning experiences.  The residency director and preceptors have customized my schedule to allow me to pursue independent learning opportunities through continuing educational programs and certificate programs of personal interest.  Second, this residency embraces the concept of a team approach to medicine.  From the start of the residency, to include orientation, I have been working side by side with the medical residents.  This has allowed me to begin developing professional relationships with them.  I am excited to learn from them and also to teach them in the clinical setting.  Lastly, this residency has a strong teaching component, an area of interest and weakness for me.  There are multiple opportunities sprinkled throughout this residency to teach pharmacy students and pharmacists, medical residents and attending physicians, and other health care professionals.  With such a well rounded and flexible learning experience offered, this year promises exceptional academic and personal growth in a number of areas tailored to helping me achieve my professional goals.”
