The Pharmacotherapy Department at Southern Regional Area Health Education Center
serves as a resource for practicing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students and residents, and other health professionals in our nine county region.
Experiential training for pharmacy students from the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy and Campbell University School of Pharmacy is provided at a variety of locations throughout our region.
Rotations are available in the areas of internal medicine, ambulatory care, diabetes care, hematology/oncology, pediatrics, long term care, critical care, cardiology, pharmacy administration, home infusion therapy, drug information, geriatrics, psychiatry, hospital pharmacy and community pharmacy.
Pharmacy students completing rotations in the SR-AHEC region gain an overall picture of the health care system, as rotations are available in governmental hospitals (military and VA), small community hospitals, and a large, regional medical center. In addition, students can complete community rotations in independent and chain community pharmacies. |
