MEETING DISEASE-SPECIFIC NEEDS OF PATIENTS


Dr. Khalid Aziz, who is Board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism has rejoined SR-AHEC as Endocrinology faculty. He completed his Endocrinology Fellowship at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, Greenville, NC in June 2021.


Dr. Aziz completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, MI. He moved to Fayetteville in 1997 and continued his professional growth by completing a Diabetes Fellowship at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in 2006. He maintained a successful referral based private practice in Diabetology in Fayetteville from 2006 to 2018, providing excellent evidenced based care to patients and coordinating free diabetes education seminars for the local community. With his vast knowledge and experience in diabetes care, he published two handbooks for physicians including "Handbook of Prevention and Management of Diabetes" and "Handbook of Metabolic Syndrome". Dr. Aziz had joined SR-AHEC initially in 2018 as Diabetology faculty before he left for endocrinology fellowship in 2019.
