The Southern Regional Area Health Education Residency Program in Fayetteville, NC seeks a full-time Physician to serve as a Program Director for its Family Medicine Residency Program. The Program Director leads and directs the Family Medicine Residency Program and is accountable for all program outcomes. The Program Director provides leadership, recruitment and selection of the Residents, mentoring, teaching, and administrative oversight to the residents within the program and to faculty who serve the mission of the residency program. Direct involvement in patient care is essential, as well as direct teaching and supervision of residents. The Program Director is a key member of the Family Medicine Division Leadership team, with accountability for collaborating to ensure success of all strategic missions of the Department of Clinical and Educational services. The Program Director is also responsible for maintenance of accreditation of the program by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and for the collaborative relationship between the program and affiliated institutions such as the sponsoring hospital and other clinical partners.
The Program Director reports to the President and CEO of SR-AHEC. Qualified
candidates must possess the following:
Previous experience working in an academic setting or completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency program preferred.
The SR-AHEC Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year residency program. Residents rotate beginning July 1. SR-AHEC is one of the nine regional AHECs of the NC Area Health Education Centers Program. Competitive salary and benefits.
