Program Description

In this presentation, we will review trends in the prevalence of adolescent alcohol and substance use, including the decrease in alcohol use and binge drinking over the past 30 years, as well as the changes in prevalence of vaping over time. We will explore the possible reasons for changes in use of alcohol and other substance use among teens. Changes in substance use administration as well as trends in the availability and potency of substances will be reviewed. Finally, we will cover vulnerable subgroups of adolescents who are more resistant to observed downward trends in use.
