This program examines the relationship between hormonal fluctuations and migraine in patients experiencing PMS. The session emphasizes practical approaches to support patients in reducing migraine frequency and severity while addressing hormonal health considerations.

Speaker
Dr. Carlene D. Moore is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Assistant Professor of Pathology at Duke University School of Medicine, where she leads the Moore Lab. Her research focuses on the sensory neurobiology of pain, with an emphasis on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive migraine, post-traumatic headache, and other chronic pain disorders. Through translational research, Dr. Moore aims to identify new therapeutic targets that improve the lives of individuals living with chronic pain. She is also committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and advancing excellence in neuroscience research.
Objectives
- Identify hormonal patterns that contribute to migraine in PMS.
- Apply strategies to manage migraine associated with menstrual cycles.
- Integrate patient-centered approaches to support symptom reduction and quality of life.
Credit
Accreditation: The Southern Regional AHEC is a member of the Southern States CME Collaborative (SSCC). The Southern Regional AHEC is accredited by the SSCC to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

These certificates are accepted by the NC boards for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses. License requirements are subject to change. Southern Regional AHEC recommends that participants contact their licensing board with specific questions. Substitutes/Refunds/Transfers
• Cancellations must be in writing (email or mail).
• Registrants cancelling between two weeks and five full business days prior to the first day of the event are refunded at 70% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee.
• No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than five full business days prior to the event.
• No refunds or credit will be given for no-shows.
• No vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
• Transfers/substitute(s) welcome (notify in advance of the program).
