Program Description
The 2027 NC AHEC Academic Progression Conference brings together nursing educators from across North Carolina to explore innovative strategies that support student success and strengthen the future nursing workforce. As nursing education continues to evolve, this conference focuses on how to expand and enhance clinical learning opportunities and equips faculty with the tools and resources to enhance student engagement.
Join colleagues from across the state for this half-day of networking, knowledge sharing, and inspiration as we work together to advance nursing education and prepare the next generation of nurses.
Participants will gain valuable insights into current initiatives and best practices through updates on Clinical Site Development and the Clinical Instructor Program (CIP), while exploring effective methods for learner engagement through simulation and apprenticeship models. Sessions will highlight practical resources, emerging trends, and collaborative solutions designed to enhance clinical education, strengthen academic-practice partnerships, and improve student outcomes.

Nursing Contact Hours: 4.25 Nursing Contact Hours will be awarded to participants who attend 90% of this educational activity.
Wake Area Health Education Center is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Substitutes/Refunds/Transfers
• Cancellations must be in writing (email or mail).
• Registrants cancelling between two weeks and five full business days prior to the first day of the event are refunded at 70% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee.
• No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than five full business days prior to the event.
• No refunds or credit will be given for no-shows.
• No vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund.
• Transfers/substitute(s) welcome (notify in advance of the program).
