The 4th Annual Southern Regional OB/GYN Conference is a collaborative summit that provides evidence-based updates focusing on bridging knowledge gaps, addressing disparities, and fostering the comprehensive, team-based care crucial for optimizing outcomes for mothers, babies, and families across our region.
Speakers

Andrea Karen Blythe Dickerson, M.D., grew up in NYC and attended Cornell University. She has a BA in Sociology and attended Emory university and obtained a Masters in Medical Science. Dr. Dickerson received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Dickerson is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also a member of the North Carolina Medical Society. Her special interests include laparoscopy and acupuncture. Dr. Dickerson speaks fluent Spanish. Previously held teaching appointments at Duke, Campbell University. She is currently an adjunct professor at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill School of Medicine.

Melinda Manning, JD, MSW, CPC, is the director of UNC Hospital’s Beacon Family Violence program. In her “free” time, she is also the chair of the critical incident debrief team, serves on the Hospital Ethics Committee, and as a content expert with the Well-Being Program and was recently elected to the Chapel Hill Carrboro Board of Education. She’s presented at numerous national and international conferences about intimate partner violence, Title IX, ethics, and victim advocacy. She used to be a college dean and was featured in the documentary on campus sexual assault, “The Hunting Ground.”

Electronic Fetal Monitoring Advances
Ann Dude, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Director, Maternal Fetal Medicine, is passionate about working with patients and families during even the most complicated of pregnancies in a way that makes them feel safe and cared for. She is a researcher interested in working at the intersection of obstetrics and public health. Dr. Dude strives every day to live up to UNC’s mission to train the next generation of physicians in obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine.

Legal & Ethical Considerations in OB/GYN Practice
Pam Collins, RN, MSN, CMSRN, RN-MEDSURGE BC, NPD-BC, with 40 years of nursing experience, holds a master's degree in nursing administration and is certified in medical-surgical nursing and Nursing Professional Development. Pam speaks nationally on clinical, legal and leadership topics and provides customized education/training. She is a published author, mentor/coach, and served in the United States Air Force Reserve as a flight nurse Pam enjoys church and community work, and spending time with family and friends.
