When diagnosed early and treated correctly, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder is a very manageable disorder that need not interfere with academic or social functioning. Our ADHD Clinic offers a thorough, comprehensive assessment to explore the possibility of ADHD and investigate any co-existing developmental, behavioral, or emotional problems.

Developing A Plan of Action
The Southern Regional AHEC ADHD Clinic staff works closely with parents and teachers to come up with a plan that best serves the child. All findings, test results, and recommendations are presented in a full written report.
ADHD Assessment for Adults Too!
ADHD also affects adults, at an estimated rate of 8.1 percent in the US. Therefore, we are pleased to offer evaluations for adults who have (or are suspected of having) ADHD. Adult evaluations will also include full assessment of personality and emotional functioning, as well as assessment of memory and concentration.
Mary Shapiro, Ph.D. is the Director of the ADHD Clinic. Dr. Shapiro is a licensed psychologist who has 39 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders.
She obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia and interned in the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Georgia.
The Southern Regional AHEC ADHD Clinic is now taking referrals from schools, medical offices, and families. SR-AHEC accepts most insurance plans.
